HE Simm, one of the UK’s leading engineering and services firms, has been appointed by Mount Anvil, in partnership with L&Q, to deliver the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) installation at The Silk District in Whitechapel, East London.
The contract, worth c£10m, will see the company deliver on a full design & build basis through Stage 4 design, installation and commissioning.
The work will take place across 262 apartments over three blocks – ranging from five to 25 storeys – as well as to the communal and external space within The Silk District’s latest Bouchon development.
The homes in The Bouchon will be crafted with considered details such as brushed gold brassware, a contrasting light and dark palette and contemporary appliances creating an enviable, comfortable living space that will stand the test of time.
Offsite manufacturing will play its part speeding up HE Simm’s overall installation process and bringing efficiencies in relation to health and safety and a reduction in waste, emissions and cost.
Gareth Simm, CEO for the HE Simm Group of companies, comments: “We are extremely excited to have been awarded what will be our first major project with Mount Anvil.
“The development is exactly the type of high-tech, modern living space we have become so well known for delivering. It is luxury living at its very best.
“From our developing relationship with Mount Anvil we will demonstrate the value we can bring and look forward to a long-term future as a trusted MEP partner.
“We look forward to starting on site in October of this year and to completing our part of the project in early 2023.
“The Silk District is a flow of tall towers and lower lying buildings in the heart of one of London’s oldest areas. The buildings are connected by new streets and landscaping and first-class amenities – it is a development that we are very much looking forward to playing our part in delivering.”
