Scope

This large, luxurious hotel, designed to compliment the adjacent O2 Arena was a project that required significant engineering excellence.  In addition to the 453 hotel rooms, the Arora Tower contained 147 luxury, serviced apartments and the Arora Ballroom was at the time, the largest pillar-free ballroom in Europe.

Delivery

Delivery

The luxury nature of the development made it essential to ensure installation was perfect.  Our teams worked closely with Balfour Beatty and other trades, sequencing work to ensure a successful delivery.  At the project’s peak we had 200 operatives working together to fulfil what was required.

The scheme lent itself well to pre-fabrication methods.  Plant and services distribution bracketry was prefabricated and installed were viable, along with the ductwork and  the 200 air-handling units that were lifted on to the roof of the ballroom.

Outcome

Outcome

The project was rated  BREEAM Excellent.  which was achieved by the coordination and collaboration between the HE Simm team and supply chain partners delivering a compliant VRV refrigerant gas system and district heating in the hotel.
