Due to increased demand of the new Range Rover Evoque, Jaguar Land Rover required an extension to its current facility in Halewood. Already one of the largest employers in the region with around 6,000 staff, the extension would give the factory a platform to meet demand and provide further, vital opportunities for the local economy.

Scope
Scope

Scope

Our brief was to provide 26,000m2 of industrial space, providing a home for the Material Planning & Logistics department.  Elements of the installation required considerable planning and a methodical approach such as high level services, demonstrating our technical capability to deliver a project of this nature.

Delivery

Delivery

Our project team mitigated the potential disruption posed by working in an operational manufacturing facility, by collaborating with Kier and JLR to devise a programme that worked around the plants busiest times.  This spirit of collaboration was also imperative during delivery, as all services were installed at a significant height.

Outcome

As is the case with the majority of our projects, CSR played a huge role.  We devoted 90% of our total supply chain spend to businesses within the local area, strengthening the local economy in the process.  We also dedicated time, effort and materials to the ‘Grow Speke’, a scheme developed by the Ground Work Trust to convert derelict wasteland in to a community garden.
