Scope

Scope

HE Simm was selected to deliver Design & Build MEP services to a new build, 15-storey, circular tower, requiring all services to be interfaced with the renovation of an existing Grade II* Listed Building.

Delivery

Delivery

There were no local labour requirements on this project, however, we endeavour to procure our subcontractor packages from the local market.  On this occasion we employed 65% local labour and also employed 4 apprentices for the life of the project.

The site footprint posed a challenge as it was extremely tight and located in in the heart of one of the UK’s busiest cities, adjacent to one of its main train lines.  As a result of this, close collaboration was required with the local authority to plan the delivery and lifting of heavy plant on to site.  Three months’ notice was required to ensure road closures and diversions would have less impact.

Outcome

Outcome

Hotel indigo was delivered on time, in budget and with snag free, demonstrating our project team’s ability to deliver excellence on a complex project in the middle of a busy city centre environment.
