Our operational executive team is responsible for the smooth running of the operational side of our business. They, together, working with the rest of our workforce are responsible for the
delivery of our strategic goals and ambitions.

Gareth Simm

Managing Director

Gareth joined the business in the mid 1990s, following four years as an engineer for firms based in Bath, Manchester and Liverpool. He joined as Business Development Manager, a position he held for 15 years. Alongside his role, he learned the 'business' ropes from his father Lawrence – the then Managing Director. He took over in 2010 as MD himself and leads the business today. Gareth has overseen substantial growth over the last ten years, taking the company to where it is now. He is responsible for strategy, business growth and ensuring the future proofing of HE Simm for the next generation.

John Lennie

John Lennie

UK Director

John is our UK Director. He is responsible for business operations and for ensuring our presence in the UK is akin to that of a leading business in its field.

He started his career working for Haden Young in 1980 as a technical apprentice, progressing to other national MEP operators including Rotary North West.

At HE Simm John was instrumental in the setting up of the London Business Unit. He works as an Executive Team member and supports Gareth and the rest of the Executive team on the overall running of the business.

Business Unit Director - Manchester

Having completed a technical apprenticeship in the 1980s, Ian joined an electrical contracting firm in Manchester, where he worked for just over 30 years.

He then moved to join HE Simm and played an integral part in the setting up of the Manchester Business Unit. As well as his operational and Executive Team leadership role, Ian heads up our Lean Implementation Programme in support of our commitment to being an environmentally friendly contractor.

Joe Carney

HR Director

Joe is a highly influential and credible HR Director with an impressive track record of strategic and operational success. He has worked for companies including Kerry Foods and Ryman Ltd, before joining the Executive Team at HE Simm in March 2015. He is passionate about making businesses commercially successful through facilitating positive change. For us is is responsible for all areas of HR, which is key to our strategic success as we continue to grow as one of the UK’s leading MEP businesses.

Jim Inglis

Jim Inglis

Finance Director

Jim is a senior financial professional, a commercial Scottish Chartered Accountant and has successfully managed and directed finance, treasury and IT departments for over 20 years. He has worked for a number of well-known companies including Mouchel International and Keepmoat. Jim joined HE Simm in 2015 and has a proven track record of directing the company to deliver bottom line growth.

Eddie Molnar

Eddie Molnar

Non-Executive Director

After a successful career in Building Services, the latter part of which was spent as an Executive Director of National MEP contractors, Eddie joined HE Simm in an advisory role to assist in the strategic growth plan proposed by the business.

Having previously expanded other businesses in to new geographies and with an extensive knowledge of the London construction market, Eddie was a vital part of HE Simm's development in to a major, national MEP provider.

Eddie remains a integral part of the HE Simm Executive Team to this day, providing guidance and expertise to Gareth and the rest of the Executive Team.

Peter O'Keeffe

Work Winning Director

Peter has a demonstrated history of working in the industry, in particular within the field of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) Engineering. He started his career as an M&E Coordinator for a specialist contractor in Liverpool. After just over a year, in 2002, he joined HE Simm as Design Manager. Peter has since worked his way up, taking over as Work Winning Director six years ago.

Business Unit Director - Liverpool

Greg has a strong operational background, having forged an extensive career working within the field of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) Engineering.

As a third generation family member, his career began studying a BSc in Building Services, before joining a Liverpool-based consultancy. He joined HE Simm 19 years ago and has since progressed through the ranks to the position he holds today – which sees him responsible for the Liverpool Business Unit.

HE Simm is a family owned business. The third generation of the family, led by Gareth Simm as Managing Director are the future of HE Simm both for their generation
and others that follow to take the reins.

Martyn Simm

Martyn Simm

IT Director

Martyn Simm joined the family business in the 2000s. He started off working part-time on the tools as a plumber, his first full time experience of spending time on site was at the Liverpool Marriot Hotel scheme the company was completing at the time (2000/2001). He studied at the University of Northumbria as a Quantity Surveyor (HND), which he completed in 2003.

During University Martyn worked for Bowey Construction in Newcastle, he also completed a NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate.
Martyn’s full time position at HE Simm started in 2004 as a Accountants Assistant learning from his mum Jean Simm. Today he holds the position of IT Director.

Vicky Simm

Vicky Simm

HR Manager

Victoria Simm joined HE Simm in 2014 as a member of the finance team. Today she is the company’s HR Manager. Prior to that, she was a Chartered physiotherapist for the Aintree NHS Trust as well as a Specialist Palliative Care Physiotherapist at Marie Curie Cancer Care, Liverpool Hospice.

She has a BSc (Hons) from Sheffield Hallam University in Sports Development and Coaching and a BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Teesside
She has studied a CIPD in HR Management, gaining a Level 5 qualification in May 2019.
