HESIS awarded Fire & Security maintenance contract extension and retention for GFSL

HESIS has been awarded two major fire, security and maintenance contracts by Gov Facility Services Limited (GFSL), the Ministry of Justice owned company that provides facility management services to 48 prisons across the South of England.

HESIS – one of the UK’s leading fire, security, mechanical & electrical maintenance firms – has been successfully delivering fire and security services to 12 prisons across the Greater London region, ranging from Category A sites to young offenders’ institutes for the last 12 months.

Following the successful and collaborative delivery of its services – the firm has been awarded an extension for the original Greater London contract, as well as for a new region in Kent and Sussex. In total, the business will now provide fire and security maintenance services to a total of 20 prisons as well as for a regional office.

Barry Juggins, Managing Director at HESIS, said: “Being awarded the Kent and Sussex region was a direct result of how well our committed, enthusiastic, team had knitted itself into the Greater London region.

“It’s fantastic that our original contract has also been extended. The team has worked hard to adopt new ways of working to provide confidence, not only on matters of compliance but also in relation to innovation – increasing efficiency and reducing risk.

“This is a true partnership, if ever I’ve seen one.”

HESIS was established in 2007. It counts companies such as Iceland and StenaLine as customers and operates in sectors including commercial, residential, aviation, education, construction and retail.
