HE Simm Supports IHP on Two Rainbow Hospital Builds in Wales

HE Simm, one of the UK’s leading family-owned MEP providers is supporting Integrated Health Projects (IHP) the JV between VINCI Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine with the delivery of two temporary rainbow hospitals in Wales.

Working with VINCI Construction UK, HE Simm is providing mechanical, electrical and public health installation support to the two sites.

The first, in Deeside, has seen an indoor ice rink transformed – which is part of the local leisure centre – into a 419 bed unit. Whilst the site at Bangor University will become a 229 bed facility – both will help the NHS in its frontline fight against the coronavirus.

The company’s sister FM company – HESIS – is also playing its part on both sites through the installation of fire alarm and crash call systems as well as PA equipment.

Gareth Simm says of the firm’s contribution: “I feel very proud and privileged that we were asked to get involved in both of these projects.

“I am extremely grateful to our colleagues who are working night and day to help the IHP JV complete the work, to a very tight deadline.

“I am also very grateful to our loyal supply chain for getting on board to work with us.

“Collaboration and relationships have really come to the fore in the last few weeks, all in the interests of the national effort, which is a real pleasure to see in what is a very testing time for us all.”
