HE Simm has completed a Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) installation at Peel L&P’s Liverpool Waters, a mixed-use regeneration scheme in north Liverpool.
The project, located in the heart of the Liverpool Waters development at Plaza 1821, forms part of the £5billion regeneration scheme by Peel L&P on behalf of Regenda – which will see the creation of five brand new neighbourhoods, breathing life back into the city’s historic docklands.
Liverpool Waters is one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects and consists of 60 hectares of quality business space combined with waterfront apartments, designed to create an unrivalled lifestyle and location. Plaza 1821 comprises 105 one and two bedroomed apartments providing spectacular views of the River Mersey.
Working alongside lead contractor Vermont Construction, HE Simm successfully installed a full MEP package including heating, ventilation and water systems, lighting and bathroom fittings, fire safety and access control systems, CCTV, security and sprinklers in a 10 month period.
Gareth Simm, HE Simm’s Managing Director, said: “We have worked with Vermont Construction for 15 years, but this is the first time we have delivered for Peel L&P. The project has been a fantastic one to be involved in and one where collaboration and relationships have been at the forefront of the delivery.
“Over the years we have grown into a national firm, but we always have, and always will be proud of our roots – so completing projects that enhance our home turf makes us proud.”
Chris Gallagher, Managing Director for Vermont, added: ‘The challenges increased towards the end of this project with the advent of COVID-19 but HE Simm worked closely with us and we achieved completion one week after the UK went into lockdown.
“The team delivered a very high-quality project. If this isn’t a perfect example of what we all can do with a common goal and as a team then I don’t know what is!”
