HE Simm Appoints Manager To Lead Its Pre-assembly / Prefabrication Capability

HE Simm has appointed a new manager to be responsible for leading the company’s pre-assembly/prefabrication capability.
Former Royal Marine Ernie Price – who joins the family-owned firm after nine years leading a business specialising in this arena – started his engineering career with the Ministry of Defence before working in the aerospace industry for six years.

HE Simm offers mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) services to customers the length and breadth of the UK. It works on high-profile schemes across a diverse range of sectors. Nationally, pre-assembly/prefabrication accounts for 12 to 15 per cent of new construction industry activity so it’s imperative it forms part of HE Simm’s forward-looking strategy. The company’s Managing Director, Gareth Simm, said: “Ernie, who joins us at a key time, has a lifetime of engineering and production experience, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge.

Ernie added: “HE Simm has an enviable reputation in the building services industry, and I’m delighted to be joining as its Prefabrication Manager.

“This will be my fourteenth year specialising in the M&E sector and, in particular, modular construction.
“I’m passionate about what I do and have learned a great deal about it over the years. It’s great to be starting the new year with a new challenge and working for HE Simm is one that I’m going to relish.”
For the last decade, he worked for Modular Design Solutions where he successfully built up a factory from base level with full responsibility for P&L, finance, recruitment, production and dispatch.
