HE Simm have been appointed by Ocon Construction to carry out the Design and Build for the Mechanical and Electrical Installation, for the prestigious student accommodation for Liverpool University at Vine Court (formerly Chatham St). The scheme value is worth in the region of £8m.
The scheme briefly comprises of the mechanical and electrical installations for two new student accommodation buildings, including retail and restaurant areas. The very high quality student accommodation includes rain water harvesting, solar panels, heating, air conditioning to all bedrooms, ventilation, water services and controls. Electrical sub station infrastructure, LV network diversions, LED lighting to corridors and bedrooms, power, security systems, access control, CCTV and fire alarm.
The design phase is now well advanced and HE Simm will start to deliver the main project work in July 2011. The project will be complete and handed over for the September 2012 intake of students, with a programme period of 51 weeks.
HE Simm have also been asked to provide comprehensive facility management services, for the first year, which will be delivered by our Asset and Facility Management division managed by Jamie Abdilla.
